CLASS TYPE: Bridal & Event Hairstlying Class
CLASS DESCRIPTION
If you are looking to break into the bridal and special event hair industry, or simply want to upgrade your existing skills and get booked on a regular basis, Liam's Beyond the Updo class is here to get you there fast!
In this class, we will be focusing on:
Classic techniques, such as up-dos, back-combing, buns and ponytails
Diving deeper into more styles, like the french twist, a soft, swept-back updo, chignon and glamorous waves that last all night.
Prepping and creating a foundation so that every hairstyle is easily maintained and controlled, all day and night
Cultivating relationships with wedding and event planners to get more bookings
We will be covering a lot of material during the course of the day, leaving an hour for a lunch break
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Liam Carey began his career styling hair in San Francisco. In 2005, he moved to New York City to further pursue his talents. He worked for Ted Gibson and Serg Normant doing photo shoots, fashion shows, weddings, as well as styling in their salons. He also was head of education for both celebrity styists.
He has since ventured out on his own, opening his first salon in Soho/NYC, Broome & Beauty and even more recently has opened his second salon, Liberty & Beauty in Newburgh, NY. He also just released his own product line, LMC Haircare.
Liam's work has been featured in Elle, Marie Claire, Martha Stewart Weddings, Oprah, The Today Show, and many more. He’s also worked with numerous high profile celebrities in NYC and beyond. To add to his extensive repertoire, Liam specializes in bridal hair, and has helped brides feel beautiful from the east to the west coast, as well as abroad.
